Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) Member Oct 2019-Aug 2020

As a member of WSP, I served at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and the City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation's Creeks Division in Santa Barbara. While here I spent 75% of my time with CDFW conducting spawner, snorkel, and electrofishing surveys to monitor for the Coastal Southern California Steelhead Trout. The rest of my time was spent with the Creeks Division conducting routine water quality monitoring and restoration site monitoring and maintenance throughout the city of Santa Barbara.

Wildlife Biology Intern with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service May 2019-Aug 2019

My primary job as a wildlife biology intern for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) was to assist with surveys for the endangered California Least Tern and Lange's Metalmark Butterfly at locations that make up the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex. I was also fortunate to have the opportunity to assist with salt marsh harvest mouse surveys, gull surveys, vegetation surveys, invasive plant removal, and native plantings.

Field Botany Intern with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service June 2018-July 2018

While an intern with USFWS, I helped conduct vegetation surveys at Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge as part of a climate-ready study.
